Information Material on SingleOM / CoMPPT Management missing
|
We at Deutsche Telekom are convienced that SingleOM is the natural evolution for all MBB networks and do not understand why there is so poor support from Huawei side to promote this feature or even clarify questions. I am missing short slide set or a Poster on the coMPT BAse Station Management (SingleOM) Feature. The Product documentation about the feature does not answer most of the questions below. The following questions are very often part of Discussions in Deutsche Telekom and should be interesting for other MArkets too. This should include:
*Summary: Advantages / Disadvantages ...Depoyment scenarios (Mixed Mode or not - related problems) **Dependencies to ...Hardware (e.g. DRFU, GTMUa,....) ...Connectivity ...RAN/SON Features (this should be a long list)***Impact on ...Object Modells ...North Bound Interfaces ...operational Procedures ...Failure Robustness ****Reconfiguration Method / Guide

Hi, Jens Both the NE product documentation and the U2000 product documentation provide the information about co-MPT base stations.
The NE product documentation and the U2000 product documentation have different focuses. The NE product documentation describes the base station hardware types, technical description, initial configuration, and network adjustment, as well as the data model and MO reference information. The U2000 product documentation describes operation and maintenance policies and methods for co-MPT base stations. The following figure shows the contents contained in the U2000 product documentation:
For details about the hardware description, initial configuration, reconfiguration, and data model, see the NE product documentation at the following URL:

Thank you very much. I believe I am aware of the documentation available. You have distributed the information to multiple places. Nevertheless the expectation for the U2000 feature description is to have all benefits, hardware dependencies, related features and parameters included in one document. E.g. please try to answer the question what are the Hardware dependencies to deploy coMPT. You can not expect to go through all product documents (for all NEs) and search for coMPT? It should also be stated clear which features are influenced by coMPT deployment. Some are enabled some are disabled. Again: One way is to go through all feature documents - if existing - and search for dependencies. Expectation is that this is covered in the coMPT feature description. Kind regards, Jens |

Hi, Jens Content of hardware dependencies and features are provided by wireless doc team. JinYan has been replied to you. About features influenced by coMPT deployment, I told JinYan to check. Hardware dependencies has been added in RF Unit and Topology Management, please check. |

Thank you for this. I know the individual sources. But a feature description must include all basic dependencies in a condensed form. What are the Hardware depencies? , e.g. on Transport Level (UMPT, LMPT, GTMUB with >SRAN10) on RF level (not supported on DRFU and RRU3004)
What are feature dependencies? there are also parts available (e.g. in BTS3900 PD:) ![]()
But what about all other functions. I know of dependencies to: - ACL auto configuration, - Multimode clocke sharing, - ... Any dependencies in the BSC? This must be described to enable the migration from separate to coMPT Management. Regards, jens |
