In routine maintenance, device and network configurations and status may become abnormal, costing O&M engineers much time to solve issues. Now with the PTN Network Health Check function, engineers can identify device and network issues with ease and effectively solve the issues before users experience them.

l  The check report gives a general score based on which engineers perform grade assessment. Engineers can consult this report about specific check items whenever necessary.

l  Through the current and historical health check reports, O&M engineers can know where to begin with.

l  Threshold-crossing NEs are red in the check report to catch attention.

On the U2000 V100R008C00, PTN network health check works in this process:

1.        Configure nominal values.

1)     Choose Fault > PTN Network Health Check from the main menu.

2)     In the PTN Network Health Check window, click Configure Nominal Values in the left pane.

3)     Configure nominal values as shown in Figure 1 and save them as a template.

NOTE:

l  Nominal values are used as norms for user-defined check items. It is based on these nominal values that the system determines whether the results of these check items are abnormal and need to be recorded in the health check report.

l  A maximum of 20 templates are supported, with the default template included. PTN network health check results are saved in Excel files.

l  The Delete, Rename, and Save buttons are unavailable for the default template displayed in the template drop-down list. Users can create templates based on the site requirements.

2.        Create a PTN network health check task.

1)     Choose Fault > PTN Network Health Check from the main menu.

2)     In the PTN Network Health Check window, click Task Management in the left pane.

3)     In the task management window, click New. In the New Task dialog box, choose PTN Network Health Check from the Task Type navigation tree and enter a task name to create a PTN network health check task.

Figure 2 shows how to create a PTN network health check task, and Table 1 shows the items required.

NOTE:

l  On the home page of a PTN network health check report, a maximum of 10 records are allowed on the home page. If you click View in the History column, a check task detail list is displayed with a maximum of 30 records. If this threshold is reached, only the latest check results are saved by default.

l  In a PTN network health check report, the check result is empty in the following scenarios:

l  The PTN network is healthy.

l  Communication times out. As a result, the U2000 cannot obtain data from NEs during the network health check.

l  Data is inconsistent between the U2000 and NEs. As a result, the U2000 cannot obtain data from NEs during the network health check.
