YES, MA5800 supports Active/Standby mode.
"The MA5800 synchronizes data in a centralized manner. The data synchronization module offers a unified interface. The software modules register the required data. The data synchronization module synchronizes the data between the active and standby boards. The data to be synchronized include configuration data, basic running data and dynamic service data."

Wow, so many auguments to prove that, however, it's very important to check it with the right document: http://support.huawei.com/hdx/hdx.do?docid=DOC1000214295&id=feature_3328&text%3DIntroduction%E2%8C%A9=en&clientWidth=762&browseTime=146

Maintaining Active/Standby Switchover

Suggestion

If both the active and standby control boards are configured, you need to periodically check whether the data of the active control board is synchronized to the standby control board to ensure reliable running of the system.

If necessary (for example, the active control board is faulty), you need to manually perform active/standby switchover to improve reliability of the system. An active/standby switchover involves only control plane switchover. The forwarding plane works in load sharing mode and therefore it continuously forwards services.

Procedure

  • Automatic active/standby switchover. The switchover is triggered by the system automatically, but you can run the display data sync state command to query whether the data is fully synchronized between the active control board and the standby control board.
  • Manual active/standby switchover.
  1. Run the display data sync state command to query the status of data synchronization between active and standby control boards.

    icon-notice.gif NOTICE:
If the data is not fully synchronized, the system will restart in an automatic active/standby switchover or forced active/standby switchover.

  2. After the data is fully synchronized, run the system switch-over command to perform active/standby switchover.

COMMAND: display data sync state

FUNCTION: This command is used to query the status of the data on the active and standby control boards. When you need to check whether all configuration data, basic running data and dynamic service data are synchronized, and whether the cyclic redundancy check (CRC) on the active and standby control board is the same, run this command.

EXAMPLE:
huawei#display data sync state
All of configuration data (such as data originated from user configuration)
synchronizes completely
All of basic operation data (such as device status data, operation log and
alarm, etc.) synchronizes completely
All of dynamic service data (data real-time changing such as PSTN call data
and PPPOE call data, etc.) synchronizes completely
User configuration data CRC check values of active and standby boards are
consistent

Yes, MA5800 support Active/Standby mode. But now is working the MA5800 can be used to build a heterogenous access network(HetAN)and support multiple network construction modes.
