During DWDM ROADM commissioning OPA feature is used. OPA stands for optical power adjustment. Before creating any optical cross connection,  every transmitting and receiving amplifier of both line and local dimension have to be commissioned individually. Otherwise OPA_FAIL_IND alarm will occur.
