Hello.
I try to use the E160 (YESS Austrian Version) in GERMANY with T-Mobile with a MAC OS X 10.5.6 - I can not get connected to the network.
If I try the E160 with XP, it works fine, but I like to use it with my MacBook.
Can you give me a hint about?
I woul like to have the software instaled on the HUA WEI E160 like it is under WIN XP if possible.
Also drivers / firmware if possible or necessary are welcome.

You can ask your provider for the MAC driver or find in their website.

Is their also a chance to install the driver on the unit (E160)?
My dealer / provider (YESS Austria) dose not support Mac OS! Where to find the correct driver / firmware .
And how to find out which firmware is installed in the E 160?

Hi
Ich habe gerade deinen Artikel gelesen, und habe genau das selbe Problem. Ich möchte das E160 Modem auf meinem neuen MacBook verwenden. Auf der YESSS Seite gibt es nach längerem Suchen den Driver für das 220 Modem, aber leider nicht für das 160.
Falls du eine Lösung bereits gefunden hast, wäre ich dir dankbar wenn du das hier posten kannst.

Sorry... english website... german thoughts... so the upper text in english.
I have exactly the same problem, I try to use the 160 modem on the new macbook, but the only driver I'm able to find on the YESSS website, is dedicated for the 220 modem.
I would really appreciate it, if you find a solution, to post it here...

Use the E220 driver from http://www.yesss.at/diskont-surfen/images_downloads/MacOSX.zip - not the official one from Huawei. Then follow the included instruction especialy the part with the HuawaiDataCardApp to configure the apn. For me that works on Leopard 10.5.6
