Hi All,

Configured SNMP in SwitchA and added into eSight working fine, but keep receiving alert that show "Communication between NMS and NE is Abnormal" about SwitchA.

Checked procedure:
1. Physical cable - OK
2. Ping test from PC to Switch - OK
3. Ping test from Switch to eSight - OK
4. Ping test from eSight to Switch - OK
5. From PC remote connect to Switch - OK

Any other suggestion/solution?

TQVM.

Usually ,its because ping failed from the eSight server to the device at that time.
Please check if this alarm have been cleared now.
If not , please create a CR in TAC/GTAC.

We will handle it ASAP.
Thanks.

Noted and TQ.

The alert often happened, like 2-4times per day.
Other than ping failed, was there any other issue will create this alert?

Thanks.

it could be related to SNMP parameters. Maybe port number 161 is temporary blocked, or NE is dropping SNMP packets.

You can check the snmp parameters:
in topology view rightclick the NE. Under protocol->snmp protocol there is a test button
