Common operations for managing APs

1. Log in to an AC and change an AP's login user name and password.

- V200R005:

[HUAWEI-wlan-view] wlan ap username huawei password cipher

Enter the password (plain-text password of 8-32 characters or cipher-text password of 32 or 56 characters):

Confirm password:

[HUAWEI-wlan-view] commit ap 1 //Run the display ap command to obtain the AP ID if you forget the AP's login password.

To restore the default user name and password, run the undo wlan ap username command. By default, the user name is admin and password is admin@huawei.com.

2. Restart an AP.

- V200R005:

Operation on the web platform: Choose Configuration > AP Management > AP Information. Select an AP and click Restart.

- V200R006:

Warning: Reset AP, continue?[Y/N]:y

Operation on the web platform: Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > AP Restart. Select an AP and click Restart.



3. Restore factory settings.

- V200R005:

Run the ap-manufacturer-config id ap-id command to restore factory settings of an AP.

- V200R005:

Run the ap manufacturer-config { ap-name ap-name | ap-mac ap-mac | ap-id ap-id } command to restore factory settings of an AP.



4. Change the AP name.

- V200R005:

[HUAWEI-wlan-view] ap id 1

[HUAWEI-wlan-ap-1] ap-sysname ap_01

Operation on the web platform: Choose Configuration > AP Management > AP Information. Click the icon of a specific AP and change the AP name.

- V200R006:

[HUAWEI-wlan-view] ap-rename ap-name N1-2 new-name N2-2

Operation on the web platform: Choose Configuration > AP Configuration > AP Information. Click the name of a specific AP and change the AP name.



5. Delete an AP.

- V200R005:

[HUAWEI-wlan-view] undo ap id xx

Operation on the web platform: Choose Configuration > AP Management > AP Information. Select an AP and click Delete.

If ACs work in active/standby mode, you are advised to disconnect the AP and delete the AP from both the active and standby ACs.

- V200R006:

[AC6605-wlan-view] undo ap-id xx

Operation on the web platform: Choose Configuration > AP Configuration > AP Information. Select an AP and click Delete.

If ACs work in active/standby mode, you are advised to disconnect the AP and delete the AP from both the active and standby ACs.



6. IP addresses of APs cannot be modified on an AC.
