Precautions for changing NE IDs and IP addresses on the U2000

Take the following precautions when changing an NE ID:
1. Changing an NE ID is risky because it will interrupt NE communication.
2. Before changing an NE ID, delete protection groups, fiber connections, and functions such as IPA and ALC from the NE. After changing the NE ID, restore them for the NE on the U2000.
3. Before changing an NE ID, delete the manually added monitoring relationship between the WMU board and the OTU or line board on the NE. After changing the NE ID, restore the deleted monitoring relationship on the U2000.
4. For a gateway NE, after changing its NE ID, you need to re-create fiber connections between it and other NEs and re-specify the primary gateway NE for NEs that were originally connected to this gateway NE on the U2000.
5. If the IP address of an NE is not changed before you change the NE ID, the IP address of the NE varies according to the NE ID. Once the IP address of the NE is changed, the association between the NE ID and IP address is canceled automatically.
Take the following precautions when changing an NE IP address:
1. Changing an NE IP address will reset the NE.
2. After changing the IP address of a gateway NE, you need to re-specify the IP address of the gateway NE in the DCN management window on the U2000, and re-specify the primary gateway NE for NEs that were originally connected to this gateway NE.
