Types of active interfaces supported by the AR routers: Layer 3 Ethernet interfaces and their sub-interfaces, dialer interfaces, ATM interfaces, ISDN BRI interfaces, asynchronous interfaces, cellular interfaces, PON interfaces, MP-group interfaces, MFR interfaces, FR sub-interfaces, and serial interfaces and their sub-interfaces

Types of standby interfaces supported by the AR routers: Layer 3 Ethernet interfaces and their sub-interfaces, dialer interfaces, ATM interfaces, BRI interfaces, asynchronous interfaces, cellular interfaces, MP-group interfaces, MFR interfaces, FR sub-interfaces, and serial interfaces and their sub-interfaces.

ISDN BRI interfaces, PON interfaces, and asynchronous interfaces cannot be used as active or standby interfaces on AR120&AR150&AR160&AR200 series.
